My first thought at the dawn of the new year was whether I have adequately thanked everyone in my life whom I need to express my gratitude for being the angels in my life, offering comfort and solace in my darkest hour and shining their light of guidance and wisdom on the path of my soul's journey.
Embarking on the new year with a sense of appreciation and gratitude for what you have and accomplished helps you to kick off the new year on a positive and satisfactory note. Your consciousness expands and your heart chakra is re-energised when you fill your heart with pure thankfulness for all that the universe has bestowed on you - be it your health, your material possessions, your day-to-day triumphs, or your beloved family and friends. There’s also mounting evidence that gratitude makes you a more satisfied, happier, less stressed or depressed person. Grateful people sleep more soundly because they are less plagued by negative thoughts at night. They also have the can-do attitude and more constructive ways of coping with life’s challenges. For most people, a new year presents the possibility that things will somehow be better. In other to actualise such aspirations, the mind must adopt an attitude and state of consciousness that is expectant of improvement, both inwardly and outwardly, and willing to take the necessary actions to give energy to one's thoughts. Remember that energy flows where attention goes. Be mindful of your thoughts with the awareness that you are a conduit for attracting either positive or negative energies, and that intention manifests actions and outcomes. Mind your language and change the mental script that keeps replaying in your mind. For instance, if you're constantly wallowing in self pity and keep telling yourself you don't deserve a better partner or a better job because you're just not enough, then destroy that self-abusive audio tape that has been playing on loop in your head. Always remember that while we can't change what happens to us, and have no control over other people's actions and reactions, we can control how we ourselves react to our external environment. Every soul has a purpose, we all have a soul purpose in this time and space continuum that we now occupy. By enhancing your intuition and deepening your attunement with your Higher Self and connection with your spirit guides and ultimately, the universe, you'll develop an understanding of your soul purpose and come to terms with your experiences and soul journey. What kind of experiences do you need to or even must undergo; and what are the lessons that you need to learn in this lifetime order to evolve and consequently attain your last incarnation? Detox - in every sense. Physically...and with the bombardment of health and wellness tips on the internet and mainstream media, you already know what to do. Psychically...by removing attachments to people who emanate negative energy and constantly sprout and embody pessimism, and who are "psychic vampires" feeding on your energy with their seemingly never-ending problems and concerns, and who plague you for your attention, precious time and 24 by 7 emotional support. On that note, Happy New Year and let's usher in and celebrate the New You!
